While, not saying, I am a Sylvanas fanboy. They will NEVER kill off Sylvanas, she is one of the most important character in WOW. Really well done cinematic, unfortunate that it's in service to this so poorly executed narrative. The story telling is amazing, it just sucks that the grand scale story sucks. Their cinematics are almost always perfect, this one is even beyond what they usually do. Hope 9.2 has more of these type of cinematics. Since June, players have been wondering how Sylvanas would react to her legacy once her soul was restored, and now ahead of Patch 9.2 we have some answers, which will no doubt be explored further in the upcoming Sylvanas novel and 9.2 campaign chapters.Īs a side note, the graphics in the cinematic are impressive, more so than the usual excellence-perhaps we're seeing some new tech that will carry forward to 10.0 cinematics! The visuals are strongly reminiscent of the Sylvanas novel cover, in which her Ranger-General and Banshee Queen appearances stand in opposition to each other. She's constantly tormented by memories of her past crimes, as one half of Sylvanas' soul from her Ranger-General era must confront the crimes committed under the Jailer's control such as the Burning of Teldrassil. In this cinematic, we see present-day Sylvanas lying unconscious in Oribos, her soul complete once again after Sanctum of Domination. This cinematic was intentionally released by Blizzard: SPOILERS!!! Possible Major Story Spoilers Ahead.
